A cat litter box is often made up of a plastic box, topped by a dome with a door. In fact the cat will quickly break the door because it cannot stand being confined in a restricted environment. In addition, if the litter box is not cleaned at least once a week, the cat will not want to go in the litter box which is full of foul odors rich in methane, sulfur and ammonia. The animal will start to urinate outside the bin, and more particularly on the bed to make you understand its annoyance.
In fact, you need extra litter for the number of cats you have. Thus the maintenance time of the litter box is extended, the cat can go to the second litter box when it considers that the first is no longer practicable. However, a normal litter will often be poorly made, with a very thin plastic layer and will meet the same fate as the first litter.
So what is the alternative to cat litter?
To avoid buying litter boxes that are quickly damaged by the cat, and to have objects that can still be used the day when you will no longer have cats, even if you do not want it, the best is to take instead a square laundry basin such as the one shown above. The edges should be high enough so that the cat does not pee outside the box and the litter is not thrown out either.
But when is it smells? With a traditional litter, there is a filter so that bad smells do not come out of the crate. In fact this filter is obsolete after 2 weeks. The best is to take clumping vegetable litter which will absorb most of the odors.
