What is the best software to look at the moon, find the name of the craters, their dimensions, their depths, the origin of their name? We already know the 3D version of Google Earth, which can be accessed by clicking on the button with the planet, then on “Moon”. However this mode is very limited.
There is a much better software, also with a sphere, with a grid of coordinates, a scale of magnitude. We have the size of the crater, the observation board, the position, the IAU information. We can thus have more information on what we look through a telescope. The name of this software is Atlas Virtuel de la Lune.
