The Celestron NexStar 127SLT telescope is a high quality Maksutov-Cassegrain instrument. The diameter of its opening is 127 mm. Its focal length is 1500 mm! The StarPointer viewfinder allows accurate alignment and sharp finding of objects. An auxiliary port makes it possible to add accessories such as a GPS. No tools are required to mount it. The eyepieces are 25 and 9 mm. The magnifications are 60X and 167X.
the highest magnification factor is 300X. It comes with the SkyX software which is a complete planetarium. This one has more than 4000 objects listed.
When the telescope is well calibrated, you can activate the goto that points the optical tube directly to planets or other desired celestial objects. To push the limits of Celestron, we can add eyepieces. Deep sky objects that are bright enough, like M31, M92 and M13 appear well. On Jupiter we can see the red task of the giant storm sweeping the planet, we see the reddish hue of Mars (without distinguishing the frozen poles). The Moon has very detailed landscapes.
