Definition of a XY problem



A XY problem is when you ask advices about the solution suggested by yourself to a problem, rathen than asking for the solution to this problem.

If you don’t explain the problem, the people will have to guess what is the problem to determine what could be wrong with your solution, instead of giving you a better solution.

You should define the problem, and what the solutions tried have given as a result.
