Delphine Batho on immigration, security, justice
The measures of the deputy Delphine Batho, concerning the fields of security, immigration, justice, during the primary of the environmentalists of 2021 to present an ecological candidate for the French presidential election of 2022.
Immigration :
The right of asylum is in the preamble of the constitution, it is not negotiable. Today we have to support foreign people who need to be safe and to be supported. There are not too many foreigners in France. France is a country of mixing, it is anchored in the history of migratory flows. We need a better organization of the reception, to avoid the problems of territorial segregation, the bad conditions. Migratory flows must be organized correctly and intelligently. The immigration of students and workers is not satisfactory.
We must welcome Afghan refugees, except suspicious people. The right of asylum is in paragraph 4 of the preamble of the constitution. France today is its history, its tradition, it is its duty to welcome all the people who ask for the right of asylum who are at risk or directly persecuted in Afghanistan. it is a question of humanity because it is a question of saving lives, but it is also a political question in the fight against a totalitarian regime. We have the reception capacities. Afghanistan risks becoming again a headquarters of international terrorism, those who flee are those who tomorrow will have to fight to overthrow this regime; they must be supported and that is part of the fight against terrorism.
Security :
We must be against all forms of violence, defend ecofeminism. It is not only a question of police technique, mobilization, information, magistrate, it is also a question of political fight against totalitarianism, against Islamism which passes through the emancipation of women.
The austerity policies, the debt strategy that has been that of the state since the first oil shock, with the crisis of 2008-2009 is directly linked to the obsession for economic growth. there is a link with what the citizens undergo in the rural territories, the suburbs and everywhere in France on the decrease, the impoverishment of the state, of public services. The ecological project consists of rebuilding a public power capable of intervening and improving people's lives.
Justice:
The amnesty for short prison sentences should be avoided. Short, unfulfilled prison sentences send the wrong signal in the fight against delinquency.
Right of woman:
We must not separate secularism from femininity. We must be against the return of religion to politics. We must continue to ban the veil at school on minors. The veil is a symbol of the oppression of women, like an injunction to hide their body that must be fought, from which the girls must be helped to emancipate themselves.
Each and everyone must emancipate themselves from relations of domination. Secularism is part of this emancipation because it is the freedom that conditions all the others. Secularism allows each person to think for themselves, not to be assigned clichés about what they are supposed to be, supposed to think. Secularism is what allows everyone to be totally free in terms of spirituality, in terms of ideas, in terms of everything. The law that banned the headscarf in school for underage girls is a law that contributes to the emancipation of girls and women.
