Éric Piolle on politics and foreign policy
The remarks of the politician Eric Piolle concerning the policy, including the foreign policy during the primary of the ecologists of September 2021 with a view to presenting a green candidate during the presidential election of 2022.
Politics :
As to the dismissal of an indicted minister, it depends on the nature of the indictment.
The more peaceful society, it goes through dialogue, power must stop being arrogant and so centralized on one head to avoid having fractures.
The vote must be introduced at 16 years old. You need a system with a quota for lists with one person under 30 every 4 people. A coalition is needed with NGOs, unions and young people.
It is necessary to introduce a dose of proportional to the legislative ones.
We must introduce the citizens' initiative referendum because we must trust the French and French to decide on the major changes that we have to make before us. Democracy is the management of conflicts in a peaceful way, so that it does not go as far as armed, physical conflict.
We must impose a tax audit for all elected officials.

Foreign politic :

We must find a European strategy in this area such as the one undertaken against Donald Trump. We are part of the multilateralists, we do not believe in an alignment behind the American position. This war between the United States and China is not ours.
If we want to improve regulation, whether through economic exchanges that respect the climate, women's rights, human rights, then we need to work on a European scale. France is going twice too slowly in its reduction of greenhouse gases, and less quickly than the European countries. So today France has no geopolitical voice because it is not doing the work it has to do. Doing our job will allow us to regain a geopolitical base. Change the mandate of the European bank so that it is no longer on inflation and growth in terms of objectives, but rather on unemployment and climate change.
We must remain a member of NATO's integrated command. NATO in its current form is plagued by unitalism and dysfunction due to the Americans' lack of consultation with their allies. We cannot do without NATO's operational role. It is necessary to change its missions and its governance. To build the Europe of defense, we first need a common sovereignty.
We must boycott the World Cup in Qatar. We should have avoided giving them access to our television channels, our football stadiums, our luxury hotels, we must put an end to these strategies of compromise.
We must return to healthy relations with Turkey. We have to stop paying them to hide things we don't want to see, and thus give them the weapons to make us dance.
