Éric Zemmour on foreign policy

The proposals of journalist and writer Éric Zemmour on foreign policy subjects, such as Brazil, China, Mali, NATO, the United States, Qatar, Europe, in view of the French presidential election from 2022.

Foreign politic :

The fate of the harkis was tragic, these people fought for France. They were not saved from the ferocity of the FLN. The FLN had promised not to touch the harkis, but they massacred them. France does not have to ask for forgiveness. Repentance must be ended. Repentance pushes us to guilt, which pushes us to seek atonement, even if it means destroying our civilization. We must abolish the memorial laws which prevent the freedom of historical research.

We can propose to cancel the debt of the African continent, but on condition that these countries agree to take back their illegals and control their birth rate.

Brazil has a tradition of military coups. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is the former president, trade union leader, leader of the left, then convicted by the courts for corruption. The character of Bolsonaro makes many fantasize, he is a former soldier, who likes to play the great soldier and dictator. Some of the Brazilian people believe that the situation in the country was better during the days of the dictatorship. Part of the population has this nostalgia for strong diets.

In Brazil, there is also the question of the rule of law, with the relationship between democracy and government of judges. Following the fascist dictatorships in the world, after the Second World War, a very strong judicial counter-power was erected in order to be able to avoid the dictatorship of the executive power. Any law must be recorded, commented on, accepted, amended by the judiciary. Brazil is on the American model, with a supreme court. Judges analyze and interpret laws according to a certain ideology. We have a part of the population, of the peoples (we see it in other countries like France), who do not agree with this ideology which underlies the analysis and the decision of the judges, that they either of the Constitutional Council, of the American Supreme Court, European Court of Human Rights, European Court of Justice. All these great judges have the same tempo and the same ideological agenda.

When there are populist leaders like Bolsonaro, like Trump, who are challenged by the Supreme Court, these leaders say that democracy is not that. Democracy is not the government of judges, it is first and foremost the power of the people, by the people, for the people. Here we have the two conceptions of democracy. The Rousseauist conception (Jean-Jacques Rousseau) which is the original conception of democracy, and the modern conception, after World War II, which says that democracy is the rule of law, with therefore the existence of counter- powers. Today, we have switched, the government of judges rules in all Western countries according to their ideology, in place of the representatives of the people, while they are not elected.

China has woken up and the world has not finished shaking. China has liberalized, but has not democratized. Their model is Mikhail Gorbachev's USSR, the famous perestroika. The Chinese over-promote free trade that serves their interests. They exercise a state interventionism that is more reminiscent of Pompidolian Colbertism than Thatcherian liberalism. A nation of engineers which plans its development on an economic war waged without qualms. For China, power is incompatible with freedom. China is an iron fist, a totalitarian dictatorship that does not shrink from any means, that does not consider human rights. Because of China's entry into the WTO, France has lost 1 million jobs in industry. Free trade only favors the strongest, the most competitive.

Military intervention in Mali is a never-ending war. It is very expensive, we do not win this kind of war. The Americans put colossal resources into Afghanistan and they did not win the war. We have to admit it and let these people organize themselves as they wish. We must protect ourselves and not encourage immigration from these countries to France.

Europe does not have much interest. The Germans are completely submissive to the USA. They always choose the Americans, and never the French. Brexit has not weakened the English, who are once again a privileged ally of the United States with the Australians in the name of Anglo-Saxon solidarity. We must remain in the common market of Europe, in the European Union, in the Euro. But we must stop wanting to be the good student of Europe and start defending our interests. It was a mistake to get into the Euro and it would be a disaster to get out of it because we are too intertwined now. We must ask the Brussels commission to reform immigration and industry. It will be necessary to multiply the exit clauses, on competition, on immigration, on Schengen.

For the United States, there are no allies, there are only relations of submission and domination. France should no longer believe that it is a privileged ally. We must get out of naivety and infantility. We must leave the integrated military command of NATO, like General de Gaul in 1966. NATO no longer has any interest in being since the fall of the Belin wall in 1989 and the fall of the USSR. One can leave the integrated military command of NATO, while remaining in NATO. France must be independent as General de Gaulle wished. We must further develop our military industry, increase our military budget, seek new alliances, reach out to Russia.

Qatar is the ally of the Muslim brothers, of Turkey, who want to Islamize the world and in particular Europe. They want to take power through the masses of immigrants in Europe and through money. It is an agent of Islamization of Europe and France. We must not roll out the red carpet for them. Qatar is the great corruptor of the Western elites. We can easily see it in Georges Malbrunot's book.

We can get closer to Russia, which has not been a Communist for 30 years. We continue to consider this country as an adversary, under pressure from the United States, it is a mistake. We must renounce sanctions which are unfair and counterproductive.

Turkey is a real dictatorship, and an Islamic dictatorship. Erdogan is poles apart from the great man of 20th century Turkey that Mustafa Kemal was. Erdogan wants to destroy the work of Mustafa Kemal who sought to Europeanize, de-Islamize, secularize Turkey. Turkey has never been so far from European standards. Erdogan wants to become the spokesperson for the oppressed Muslim peoples in a civilizational conflict that has become inevitable in his eyes. To the Christian dream of the European Union, he prefers the Ottoman dream with the return of a dominant influence on the former countries of the empire: Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Egypt. Before Erdogan, Turkey was the only Muslim country that knew how to reconcile Islam and democracy, Islam and modernity, Islam and freedom.
