Main gold producing countries
Here is a table and graph that shows the countries that produce the most gold in the world. As we can see, and this is quite surprising, we find China in first position, ahead of Russia, Australia, Canada and the United States. In the table below, we have added the theoretical value of the gold mined, in billions of dollars. This is the value linked to the price per ounce on the market at the end of the respective year. This is probably not the price the gold was sold for.
You should know that 78% of this gold is valued through the creation of jewelry. Part of it is used as a store of value by banks and financial institutions. Part of it is used in dentistry, aerospace, electronic components.
