How to remove Exim4

You may want to delete Exim4 on your server because this module don't suit you enough as a mail server and you want to come back to another package such as Sendmail, which has similar specificities. Or you just want to install it again because it doesn't work well as it is now.

To entirely remove Exim4, you can use this command :

# apt-get remove exim4 exim4-base exim4-config exim4-daemon-light

# rm -r /var/log/exim4/

# apt-get --purge remove exim4 exim4-base exim4-config exim4-daemon-heavy
