It should be known that whatever the method used, coffee is not made to be kept long. It is best to consume it quickly.
We already know that in contact with the air the coffee quickly loses its aroma. In a transparent jar, exposed to light, it will quickly be damaged. In a damp room or in the fridge, it will absorb micro drops of water and gradually disintegrate. The cold and heat will also accelerate the disappearance of its flavor.
Therefore, it must be stored in an airtight, opaque, low-air box in a dry place at room temperature.
The most suitable would be a container of stained glass, or ceramic. However, it will be easier to find a metal box with a perfectly hermetic cover. Some products are able to evacuate CO2.
In the same way, the conservation of the coffee in its original form, namely in grain, is an advantage since the grain is in itself a good conservator of its own contents. A grain grinding machine such as a coffee grinder or a blender can then be useful.
Buying coffee from a roasting specialist often ensures a better quality and better preserved grain.
