How to import 3D models from DAZ Studio into Blender?
It may be interesting to import 3D characters from DAZ Studio software to Blender. The main reason is Blender's rendering engine which is much faster than DAZ Studio's. In DAZ, it often takes several hours to generate a single image. While in Blender, it only takes less than an hour for the Cycles engine, only a few minutes with the Eevee engine which gives images of lower quality but still quite acceptable.
To import the 3D models from DAZ Stutio into Blender, there are several possibilities.
- DazToBridge, this extension is an effective way to convert models, however there are many flaws, sometimes the characters are deformed.
- Diffeomorphic, this extension is much more efficient. There are fewer problems. The possibilities are very extensive. You can choose the platform for the animation of the character's skeleton, with DAZ, Rigify, MHX.
It is advisable to go through the so-called "easy" import. It is necessary to create a compatible version of the desired model in DAZ Studio, with the extension .dbz.
