Marine Le Pen on agriculture, energy, ecology, carbon tax
The proposals present in Marine Le Pen's political program for the French presidential election of 2022, with here the subjects around energy, agriculture, ecology or the carbon tax.
We must move towards the relocation of agricultural production, put an end to intensive agriculture, and return to agriculture which is more respectful of the environment. It should not be left in the hands of large retailers to determine whether they should increase margins or better remunerate farmers.
Taxes on products from organic farms must be reduced.
Photovoltaics generate 55 grams of CO2 per kilowatt hour. It is ten times more than nuclear.
Nuclear electricity is constant, safe, abundant, almost carbon-free. According to Ademe, a kilowatt hour of nuclear electricity generates only 6 grams of CO2 emissions. Nuclear power needs 10 times less space than wind power and 100 times less than photovoltaic power to generate a megawatt hour. The French nuclear industry is 125,000 direct jobs, 250,000 indirect jobs, 2,600 companies. Going without nuclear power is now totally irresponsible. But in the long term, nuclear power remains a dangerous energy, so we must keep in view the need to separate from nuclear power. For the moment we have not invested enough in research and research is not advanced enough for renewable energies to replace nuclear power.
Research work on the fast neutron reactor must be reactivated, through the Astrid experimental reactor project. The closure of Fessenheim was a mistake.
The economic benefits of the Flamanville EPR are 60 billion euros. The construction of 3 new EPRs must be launched to consolidate the know-how of the French nuclear industry. We must guarantee the coverage of the electricity needs of the country and our neighbors by reviewing the current nuclear fleet.
The storage of nuclear waste does not pose any security problem.
Wind power generates 7 grams of CO2 per kilowatt hour. Wind turbines require the operation to support factories that use fossil fuels. Offshore wind turbines feature a subsidized random power system at prices that are twice that of onshore wind turbines. We need to focus on nuclear power plants and hydraulic dams. Wind turbines are an eyesore.
It is necessary to launch a referendum on the issue of the environment. We must open a debate to have another vision of ecology. We should ask the French if they want us to continue investing in nuclear power. Environmentalism is the enemy of our environment. It is a threat that would like to put an end to the mores of the French.
We must continue the renovation of home insulation thanks to zero-interest loans.
We need an open debate with all parties around the issue of animal health, including associations, veterinarians, farmers, hunters and even supporters of bullfighting. We must approach the protection of animals without hypocrisy. We must ban the importation of animal furs.
Carbon tax :
We must be hostile to increasing taxes on fuel. It is a threat to purchasing power. The carbon tax disguises in green a continuous increase in taxation, as well as a rise in tax injustice. To reduce pollution, we must relocate agrifood production, also industrial. Farms need to be brought closer to consumers. We must stop importing products made from countries that do not have environmental standards.
