This is a question that comes up often when you are new to mushroom cultivation. Initially everything goes perfectly, the mycorrhiza first manages to cross the earth. A white veil forms, which shows the underground part of the fungus progressing properly. Then white buttons emerge, get bigger. But then the tragedy is, as their skin hardens and the spongy organisms turn yellow, then wither and disappear.
This is a sign that there may be a mistake made by the grower.
Too much light
It can come from the light. Too much light covering the surface can damage the fungus, it is important to limit the entry of light to the cover of the mushroom grow kit.
Temperature
Fungi will collapse if the ambient temperature is above 20 ° C, once the white veil appears on the earth. Likewise, the fungus may see its growth slow down if the temperature is too cold (below 10 ° C). Maintain a suitable temperature, around 16 ° C.
Poor quality water
This is the most common reason if the mycorrhiza has been introduced recently. We tend to think that using the same water over several days saves material. However, what works for certain plants can be fatal in the case of the fungus. Indeed, mushrooms are very demanding. It is essential that all of the water supplied each day is fresh and comes straight from the tap.
Mycorrhizae at the end of life
If the underground part of the fungus has already provided more than 2-3 generations of fungus, then after a while the mycorrhizae will tire, the outer part will wilt, then the inner part will turn.
