Sandrine Rousseau's measures concerning politics, institutions and foreign policy for the debates around the primary of the ecologists of September 2021 which aims to present a green candidate for the presidential election of 2022.
Politics :
We must respect the measures proposed in the citizens' convention on the climate, and go beyond.
We must dismiss the ministers who are indicted and thus believe the word of the victims.
We must give more power to parliament, to the territories.
Young people should be told to come and play politics, because their future is in question.
We must reinvest the values of the left and environmentalists. We claim that there is no ecology without cohesion and without a strong social contract. We need a radical ecology, with a strong speech, of truth. We must not leave the political landscape to the right and the far right. There is a very strong desire for unity on the left, but the addition of logos has brought too much despair, it is not a red carpet until the Elysee Palace. There cannot be a withdrawal from ecology.
Foreign politic :
Brazil must be forced to protect the Amazon through much needed retaliatory trade measures.
According to China, this country cannot have the same environmental standards as Europe because it is an emerging power. Today the Chinese generate more pollution per capita than the Europeans. China has succeeded in becoming a leader in renewables, it is to be hoped that China will become a key player in the global ecological transition.
Finding cooperation with the two giants that are the USA and China is part of the reform on French and European foreign policy. Democratic values, human rights and the climate must count in cooperation within Europe, which today lacks a united diplomacy, with a single voice. On China, the increases in the constraint must be effective with each new climate agreement. Otherwise, at the European level, we must move towards a balance of power which can include economic retaliation if necessary. This European power is therefore useful since it allows us to lead a standoff with a power like China. In this case we have here both the problem of human rights, the problem of democracy, of opponents, and also a problem of carbon, carbon emissions and non-compliance or weak commitment on the carbon reduction.
We must uphold the values of the common good, ensure that this common good is always superior to private interests.
We must open the door to a political dialogue between all the forces in Mali otherwise France will be forced to leave as the United States left Afghanistan.
We can no longer depend on the American umbrella or on NATO. The NATO treaty is a holdover from the Cold War and no longer makes sense today. We must eventually get out of it, when we have sufficiently advanced European defense.
We must review our diplomacy in terms of women's rights, and put the issue on the table with countries such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
We are ready to face leaders such as that of Russia which is the most manly leader on the planet.
