Sandrine Rousseau on transport, education and religion
The measures of the Sandrine Rousseau policy on the subject of education, transport and religion during the debates of the primary of the environmentalists of 2021 within the framework of the French presidential election of 2022.
Transportation:
There needs to be a carbon tax at the borders if diplomacy is not enough to force countries to review their demands in the fight against global warming.
Free use of this local transport is needed. Public transport is the emancipation and autonomy of the youngest and the most precarious. This makes it possible to go shopping, to find work. Public transport is part of the base of law, everyone must be able to move quickly, we must see who finances because there is no free service on the bottom.
We must increase the price per tonne of carbon to 200-250 euros. It is an absolutely essential economic tool for reducing carbon production. Carbon is what puts us most at risk and it's almost free. The redistribution of the carbon tax has never been thought of. Instead of increasing gasoline and not informing about the use of the proceeds of this tax, we must assume a high carbon price but rethink a redistribution system so that it benefits households with the lowest incomes. For households, we need carbon quotas, every time we emit carbon it is noted on the quota, for example when we take a plane.
There is a scarcity of raw materials for the battery that we need to take into account. We must reduce the number of cars, their weight. People who use the car as a work tool such as delivery men will be able to keep their cars. We must invest massively in public transport throughout the territory, in shared transport. We should be less dependent on the private car. We must get out of the SUV model.
Education:
The emergency in school canteens is the end of waste, meatless, organic and short circuits. The school is degraded with teachers who do their best in the worst conditions, with a reduction in the number of positions, with educational inequalities that are exploding. People in the education system do their best to make up for the lack of resources.
Religion:
Today universalism is the goal we must achieve, but it is not the situation in which we live. Homosexuals have a very important risk linked to the discrimination they suffer. The frequency of police checks vary depending on the color of the skin. It is also our goal to look at the state of society and to ensure that the inequalities that exist are reduced.
The right to blasphemy cannot be discussed, it is one of the foundations of our republic. This has played a considerable role in our history, and in particular in our emancipation from the Church. There is no debate, we have the right to make caricatures, we have the right to make fun of everything, of all religions, and that's why we are free as as a citizen.
