You have just extended your free account, following the end of the current evaluation period. And since Avast uses between 60 and 100% of the processor, also between 1 GB and 1.6 GB of RAM. It then becomes difficult to navigate the Internet, to use various tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop. It becomes very problematic.
Go to Windows Settings, then Applications. In associated parameters, we choose: Applications and features. Then we right click on Avast Free Antivirus, we select "uninstall", then "repair". This will repair the Avast installation and resolve the issue.
If that doesn't work, uninstall Avast and reinstall the software from the latest available version.
