How to uninstall Sendmail with Ubuntu

Sendmail allows you to send emails from your web server. Sometimes, there may be conflicts with other packages on the Linux distribution. And it is better to uninstall this application.

To remove Sendmail, you must enter these command lines in your SSH interface:

sudo /etc/init.d/sendmail stop

sudo apt-get remove sendmail sendmail-bin

Procmail can be uninstalled with Sendmail:

sudo apt-get remove procmail

sudo apt-get remove sendmail-base m4 sendmail-cf libdb4.8

sudo apt-get purge sendmail sendmail-bin

Finally, restart the server:

sudo reboot
