Yannick Jadot on ecology and the carbon tax
The words of the ecologist Yannick Jadot on ecology and the carbon tax as part of the 2021 environmentalists primary in view of the 2022 presidential election in France.
Ecology.
We must stop the artificialization of soils, boost the recreation of nature, make a moratorium on commercial areas outside cities, stop factory farming, cage farming, create a moratorium on outdoor farming.
We must implement the proposals in the citizens' convention for the climate, this represents exceptional work. There are among others the relocation of the economy, the relocation of companies, more peasants in the territory, a circular economy, the end of waste, planned obsolescence, the isolation of houses, cooperatives of renewable energy. We don't need to go look for the ecommerce warehouse.
We must install photovoltaic panel factories. Photovoltaic companies have been sacrificed for the benefit of the Chinese.
We need a deputy prime minister for ecology who brings together food, health and the environment, because these areas are so necessary. we must be able to root out the lobbies from these sectors.
In 2017 we considered that the best strategy was to join Benoit Hamon. However, we are in a situation where ecological degradation is accelerating incredibly, we have exploding inequalities, the collapse of democracy, everyone shares this diagnosis.
